Great Bearded Men III

The ongoing tribute to Great Bearded Men was bound to bring us to American Presidents at some point, so why not now? The very first US President to sport a Beard was Abraham Lincoln, and who could argue the man’s Greatness. He successfully led the Nation through its greatest crisis, the Civil War, preserving the Union and bringing an end to slavery.

Tragically, John Wilkes Booth, sporting only a cheesy mustache, ended this Great Man’s life in an act of cowardice. Mr. Lincoln, our entire nation owes you a debt of gratitude. You were truly a Great Bearded Man.
