You know, for the longest time I have used the remarkable medium called the blog incorrectly. I started blogging because I love to write and it gave me a place to do that. Then I got pleasure from making cool websites, picking themes and creating clever URLs. But then I was caught up in the pro blogging trend and self hosted so I could run ads, do affiliate marketing and the like. All in all, it was a waste of time and energy. And money.
The personal blog is the way to go. I write what I want, when I want. I don’t care if anyone reads it, I know I won’t make any money from it, and I don’t have to have any consistency in content. Essentially, I’ve replaced my social media with my blog! Why tweet or write a Facebook post when I can just write a blog post.
