I’ve read so much nonsense about men refusing to wear masks during the COVID pandemic because they feel it isn’t masculine. Some take it to the extreme to actually crow about it like a peacock flaring its tail feathers. Conservative female pundits like Tomi Lahren encourage it and perpetuate the image that somehow breathing your infected foul air on others is the epitome of manliness.

Forcing others to breathe your noxious exhalation is either profoundly ignorant at best, or sociopathic at worst. It’s the equivalent of smoking in your car with the windows closed and your kids in the back seat. No one has the right to expose others to illness and possible death, and using your possession of a penis to justify it makes you an asshole, not a manly man.
Perhaps these men are so oblivious that they think the mask is to protect them, and their lungs are so manly they don’t need protection from a deadly pathogen. There’s no excuse for this level of ignorance. It can only be willful as the information is everywhere and the evidence is overwhelming.
A real man takes care of others, cares about others, is accountable and responsible for his actions. He aspires to be an example to others of upstanding behavior that improves the world around him. He is informed, educates himself, strives for self improvement. A man who does none of these things is a menace to society. A man who willingly puts others at risk without remorse or accountability is not a man, but a sociopath. A scourge in the community. A pestilence that must be managed as they aren’t responsible for themselves. It isn’t masculine; it’s ignorant, arrogant, immature and pathetic.
