What’s this About?

This is a personal blog, designed to give me an outlet for writing, which is one of my favorite hobbies. Until recently, I had not allowed comments on the blog, and had dissuaded WordPress from making it easily searchable by search engines. I wanted to basically keep it as a journal, but the more I write, the more I think I’d like the content to get out in case it can be helpful, entertaining or enjoyable to anyone out there.

I don’t have any particular plans for the blog other than that. It’s kind of like my own opinion section of the NY Times or the Washington Post. While I occasionally will write pieces that are heavily researched, my primary motivation is not to become some kind of independent news site or topical blog. After all, I’m not getting paid here.
