No retreat baby no surrender

A few weeks ago, I’d given up hope on my minoxidil beard journey. For months I have dutifully applied the juice to my face twice a day. In the early going I also derma rolled twice a week and applied peppermint oil every day. I stopped derma rolling when the beard hair I do have got long enough that the roller basically just caught in the hair. I’d have to just roll the small areas of baby-faced baldness so I just passed. Regarding the peppermint oil, I just got tired of an oily face and have been using Bossman Beard Jelly in lieu of beard oil.

I have accepted the beard I have, even as thin as it is on the cheeks and sideburns. I figured I’d use up the Minox supply I have and be done with it, chalking it up as a failed experiment.

Today, I decided to take some good quality pictures, in the natural light of the day, using the back camera vs. the more convenient but lesser quality front facing selfie camera. I turned up the screen intensity, put my readers on and zoomed in. Lo and behold, Golly Bob Howdy, my face is covered in vellus hair!

It has taken a little over four months for them to arrive, but I’ll be damned if there isn’t a fine blanket of the little bastards all over my cheeks.

I know there’s a long way to go before those vellus fall out and legit terminal hair replaces them, but I am renewed in light of the evidence. No faith required. I am now committed to a second six-month run to give me a full year on the juice, and hopefully, a full face of fabulous bearded awesomeness.
